We are seeking employees for our front of house team at Whatawhata Berry Farm. This is a public facing position where you will handle customers on a daily basis. This role is suited for individuals with strong communication skills, ability to work in a team and a general understanding of customer service.

Position: Pack House Manager – Strawberries


We are currently looking for an experiences Pack house manager to manage our busy straw-berry pack house operation.

Job Spec:

  • Supervising the Pack house operations to ensure all sale orders are processed on time.
  • Supervise and train other employees in safely handling delicate produce in accordance with Food Hygiene standards
  • Staff rosters
  • Maintaining employee attendance records
  • Auditing start and finish times
  • Process weekly Payroll
  • Quality control and
  • Ensuring all health and safety requirements are met
  • Hours: 7 am to 5 pm (highly flexible)
  • Must have the ability to work outside these hours
  • Days: Monday to Saturday (7 days preference)
  • Full Drivers Licence
  • Forklift Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Clean Police record
  • Previous experience in pack house supervision and Food Hygiene standards

Position: Strawberry 'Production Line' Packer


We are currently looking for an experienced Strawberry 'Production Line' Packer.

Job Spec:

Physical Work:

  • Working at a packing table packing strawberries into numerous punnets
  • Grading berries for size, colour , shape and ripeness
  • Sorting damaged and unsaleable berries to waste product
  • Packing previously graded strawberries into different shape punnets for various markets
  • Weigh the completed punnet
  • Place them in the conveyor

Attributes:

  • One needs the ability to stand comfortably whilst working all day
  • Good hand/eye con-ordination
  • Quick decision making abilities
  • Fast and continuos work rate
  • Systematic and methodical thought processes.
  • Flexibility in working hours (dependant on crop harvest)
  • Ability to understand instruction and learn techniques quickly
  • Good strong work ethics and the ability to work long hours (10-14 hours some days)

  • Incentive payment scheme based on quality/quantity of packed berries

Position: Contract Strawberry Picker


We are currently looking for an experienced Contract Strawberry Picker.

Job Spec:

Physical Work:

  • Pick strawberries from a bending over position into 2litre ice cream bowl
  • Grading and sorting berries in the fields
  • Cleaning off of damaged and diseased berries from the plants
  • Cleaning off of old diseased leaves from the plants
  • Placing the 12@ 1 kg bowls of strawberries into bread trays
  • Carry and stacking the full 15 kg bread trays at the end of the line
  • Recording and collating your individual totals with the truck driver for process
  • Work hours generally from 6am to 1 pm 7days per week (weather dependant)

  • Mostly daily harvest completed between the hours of 6am and 2 pm

We are currently looking for an experienced Truck Driver.

Job Spec:

  • Loading and un loading 8.5 ton curtain slider truck
  • Hamilton to Auckland daily run
  • Class 4 drivers licence
  • Forklift Licence
  • First aid certificate
  • Experience in the driving industry
  • Documentation (raising consignment notes
  • 5-7 days per week (negotiable)
  • Flexibility with working hours
  • Ability to work and communicate with wide range of nationalities
